The Lakeside section of the Great Wall is a nice retreat to the hustle and bustle of crowded and polluted Beijing.
After breathing in bad air for several days, I thought it’s proper to go out and explore the city. I joined a trip organized by Foreigner China Network (WeChat: foreignerandchina) to the iced waterfall attraction in Taoyuan Xiangu scenic area (桃源仙谷冰瀑) in Miyun District. on January 21.
It’s definitely a good start this year. Though I’m almost veering away from news writing, my current job is proving more and more exciting as I can do the things I like and love the most — writing, traveling, and meeting people.
I set my sights on the changing scenery, the tracks, and the train architecture. They were captivating in every way possible. Good thing I did not set any expectations, and that made every moment marvelous.
It’s been a long and tiring day. But Summer Palace is just breathtaking and awesome. Take a look.
