A-Z Challenge: Theme Reveal

I’m so excited to join the Blogging from A to Z Blog Challenge! When I first read this last year, I thought it will be a great idea to push content in a blog. And since I started mine just recently, I think I need to put more content and make coolkidandy livelier than ever! It’s also a great idea to know more about everything — from pop culture to language to thoughtful babbles — the possibilities are endless.
So after days of contemplating which theme I should use, I finally got an idea while hitting the shower! It’s Chinese Adventure.
Why Chinese Adventure?
It makes perfect sense since I created this blog to document my musings every time I travel and go out of Beijing. I’m also an expat in China since December 2015 and will stay here probably for a longer time. I’m a journalist by profession and I must say writing is one of the things I like doing — but most of the time I end up procrastinating.
Anyway, I am always amazed by how big Beijing is — it’s almost endless that I am finding myself traveling and exploring a lot. With my new career as a lifestyle journalist at beijingkids, one of the things that I do is to profile people as well as feature places and events.
The challenge is also quite fitting to my next travel assignment — in Shandong Province where I will spend my long weekend holiday. Not only that I will relax there but also I will try to photograph breathtaking vistas near Bohai Sea, as well to meet interesting expats too.
The challenge in itself is a taxing task. As a journalist who’s always under pressure due to a lot of deadlines, producing a story per day for my blog is one thing that’s on top of my daily to-do list. But also as a content marketer, I somehow know how to manage a social media content calendar to properly schedule my life. By the time of writing, I have scheduled almost all of the 26 blog posts for April. I’m still flexible because there might be interesting events or people I will be stumbling upon during my daily assignments — and they’re also worthy of mentioning in my Chinese Adventure.
My blog articles will be mixed, i.e. they’ll be composed of either a gallery about the letter of the day, or a story about it. I have already prepared some of them and I hope that they capture what a Chinese adventure is from a view of a young expat. I also like to think that my articles will be of big help, especially to those who want to travel Beijing.
This month will also be a hectic one for me as I will be spearheading a student correspondent program. Whew. But yeah, let’s do this!
So welcome to my Chinese Adventure and I do hope that you go with me on my journey to exploring the Middle Kingdom.

Hello Parul, thanks! I’ve only seen a little part of Beijing — it’s so huge! That’s why this A to Z Challenge will be fun… not to mention that on this day I will go to travel the city and a nearby province. So excited to share my experience and photos with you and everyone.
