#AtoZChallenge in China: Zàijiàn (See You Again)

It’s the last #AtoZChallenge in China… and today’s entry is just a simple word – it’s zàijiàn or goodbye.
I intended this last post to be a summary of my first ever Blogging from A to Z Challenge, and I must say it was cool and an eye-opening experience.
My Blogging From A to Z Challenge in China had been categorized into different sections:

When I scheduled all my entries, Z had been one of the most difficult to fill in. But when I told other people about this challenge, they gave me a lot of ideas and words to cover for other letters, but the Z one was given by Eyka, a Malaysian student who I met in Shandong Province.
Z is for Zàijiàn
Eyka and I shared a lot of our recent travels and observations in China during our trip to Changdao (where I wrote my Baxian Guohai entry). She said that zàijiàn was fit for Z because it means goodbye and a perfect way to end the challenge.
But of course, we’re not saying goodbye! Now that I found the joy of sharing stories and other cultural and historical stuff from my travels, I think it’s proper to just continue the challenge, albeit reverting to my previous categories such as the Bucket List, Mandarin Mondays, and Musings.
Also, whenever I find something silly, unusual, or quirky that’s truly exceptional Chinese, I always tell my colleagues or other newly-found friends that “Welcome to China.” So I hope that you find my A to Z Challenge entries a warm welcome to the Middle Kingdom.
Cheers and I look forward to seeing you in Beijing! No zàijiàn but Welcome to China!

I feel I barely scratched the surface! There’s a young Chinese travel guide who wants to share more stories on my blog. So excited to collaborate with her.

  2. reading your posts makes me not want to visit china but then again, it does but I’m bit indecisive. though I found your blog late, I enjoyed my visits here even with a few images I would like to remove from my memory, but overall, not so bad.
    have a lovely day.

Really glad you enjoyed my A to Z series. My views of China have changed since I came in Beijing. Though it’s not always rosy here, there’s this thing in China that makes you want to explore it more. I’ll be writing more stuff about China soon 😀
