Welcome to Cool Kid Andy!
My online personal space has taken a lot of forms, first on Friendster as a collection of mindless babbles of a teenager, then on Multiply full of anime-ish designs, and penultimately on WordPress.com with travel journals and reposts of my articles from beijingkids. Now, I’m very proud to launch the newest edition of my online platform, which serves as a repository of my thoughts, professional career, and travel experiences in my adulthood.
I can’t believe I just said “adulthood” because I have always considered myself as a young professional, someone who’s always been a cool kid. People still laugh at hearing “Cool Kid Andy” because it sounds like it’s a funky username of a high school nerd. Well, I’d like to preserve that feeling of being a high school nerd who’s into learning new stuff.
On CoolKidAndy.com, you’ll find three themes, namely: storytelling, exploration, and community building. I have adopted these as my personal brand since my profession as a journalist has allowed me to tell different stories through traveling and meeting new people. And there’s an abundance of that in China, where I currently work and live.
